Kos' NYFW Diary #2: EDUN SS 13

For those of you not familiar with EDUN, the fashion brand was founded by Ali Hweson and Bono of U2.  Their mission is to bring positive change through it's relationship with Africa and being an innovative creative force in contemporary fashion.

Intimate, extroverted, utilitarian and outerworldly are the words to describe the Edun girl for Spring 13. Layered bralets, pailette side panels, and sequin slouch shorts add a touch of girliness, where deep v's, cargo pants and mix media knits added the edge that we expect from EDUN.

The juxtaposition of hard and soft is shown throughout this collection, what a treat!

I was happy to get a great spot to take pictures, a lot of spectators spotted Alicia Keys and tried to take pictures of her when security told them to stay where they are, when they moved, I moved to their spot ha!

EDUN continues to make progress by bringing economic development back to Africa. The cover of the program reads that styles to be made in Africa or made from fabric sourced from Africa have “been highlighted in bold.” I highlighted two that caught my eye.  The sheer jacquard urban prints took center stage for me as I am not a big print person (it was the sheer factor!)

EDUN is becoming one of my favorite's a lot of the looks I can see myself wearing from the drape chiffon tops to the cargo bottoms.

Look 17 is  such a Kosi outfit:

Black speckle printed mesh knit tank.
Fatigue silk habotai pailette utility pant.
