Wild, wild, wild thoughts.....

Usually when it comes to my makeup, I’m pretty simple. Covering up my dark circles, thickening my lashes, and adding a sun-kissed glow are the only steps in creating my everyday look. Don’t get me wrong—I love playing around and trying out new products. But let’s face it (literally): I’m not an expert when it comes to applying makeup lol! I’m WAS more of the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” kind of gal when it comes to make up.

Rewind to last month…., I decided to try something new and contacted Vanessa Cruz who is THE make-up expert. I wanted to break out of my usual make up routine :)

For my look, I pulled inspiration leaning more towards the vamp punk look I have been seeing lately...  I love it, it’s romantic, dark and brooding and elicits intrigue.

I’m totally convinced that I was an early 80s punk head in my past life time! I love the IDGAF vibe that filled the air during that time: Grace Jones, The Clash, Joan Jett, Blondie, The Stooges. The OG’s, the original hustlers, they started the whole DIY mentally that still exist today! What a time to live amongst that creativity :)

Voila! This was a fun make up session, Vanessa and I were listening to the new album “Grateful” by DJ Khaled in the midst of it, with “Wild Thoughts” on repeat!

Vanessa used the following products, it was a mix of high and low end product!

Brows:  NYX Cosmetics: Micro Brow Pencil in "Brunette"

I was happy to get out of my comfort zone and give a look I wanted to try a shot J. Vanessa thanks again for the encouragement.

I see spots

The classic leopard print has been a must have in my closet. It's been such an easy choice when your outfit needs a little something extra, plus, with the right styling, you can wear it anywhere.

I have been a fan for years, I mean Catwoman is one of muses haha, def a no brainer.... Here are few snaps:

Best of all, the print can be incorporated into most looks.  Don't think it's just a fall staple, it can actually be worn on the summer too. Check out my favorite picks:

I upped my leopard game by purchasing these babies by Giuseppe Zanotti. I got them at Eleven C Boutique in Park Slope, which is seriously one of the best designer consignment shops in the city.   It was a mix of Birthday/graduation/you really deserve these shoes Kos 😂.  Stoked to rock them for summer and beyond!

Does anyone else have their "go to" print/style? Please share!

Beauty and the Matcha....

I was recently gifted a few products from PLANT Apothecary and I had the pleasure of trying them out the past few weeks.  PLANT is a Brooklyn-based brand founded by husband and wife duo, Bjarke Ballisager and Holly McWhorter. They both are passionate about the environment and green beauty! PLANT’s products consist of all-natural, environmentally friendly body washes, face scrubs, and masks. Each elixir is hand-packaged at the workshop of BKLYN UNLTD, a nonprofit that employs and empowers people with disabilities. How rad this that?

Matcha has been on the rise lately in beverages, food,… and instagram stories ha ha! I was stoked to try Matcha Antioxidant Face Mask.  The mask is composed of organic fair trade matcha tea, chamomile oil, and kaolin.

As per instructions I left the product on my face until I felt it tightening and getting hard, about a minute.   Then I washed it off with warm water.  After washing it off, my face felt so soft and smooth.

The benefits of the Matcha Antioxidant Face Mask include: reducing inflammation and minimizing the effects of aging on the skin.  It is very smooth and smells yummy.

Try it friends :)

After washing the mask off I sprayed my face with RE: FRESH Organic Toning Facial Mist.  The mist, consists of cucumber, rosewater, and Aloe Vera. Witch hazel and antibacterial lemongrass tone and refresh the skin.

This spay made my face feel wonderful.  What a great way to relax and rejuvenate my skin at the same time.

You can shop their collection online or at Lord & Taylor, CB2, and Target.

Has anyone tried PLANT?  What are you guys doing to amp up your summer
