Hello To The Bodysuit

First it was a jumpsuit, now a bodysuit.  I have been toying with the idea of getting a bodysuit for sometime now, I wanted a top that would lie flat and tuck perfectly into bottoms.  The   unique design I saw from Alice + Olivia was sticking to my head, the comfortable jersey and rouched chiffon material and the deep v is everything!   But that price though.. I was lucky to find it on eBay for 60% off the retail price!

I took the bodysuit out for a spin the other day, it is officially summer in NYC and this day in particular couldn't have been more perfect:

One of A Kind Pieces from The Vintage Twin

Remember the days in school where there was a person or group of that always had a out of the box style not being the most expensive but it made you say "Wow why did I think of rocking it that way" then the next day or so you are trying to replicate that look?  That is the best way I can describe my newest find The Vintage Twin (TVT).  TVT was founded by twins Morgan and Samantha Elias in 2009.  The brand provides an exclusive, affordable, and charitable shopping experience for men, women and home!

I fell in love with this DVF blazer I purchased from TVT, the packaging was a treat for me, who wraps a garment in a vintage McCall's sewing pattern? Sweet!

The Vintage Twin is different from most vintage shops for a few reasons:

1. They REWORK their products- cutting a pair of vintage Levi jeans into shorts and using the salvaged material for Iphone case, turning blouses into cold shoulder blouses, and taking a long skirt and making it short in the front .

2. 10% of all proceeds in store and online go to a charity of your choice: Autism Speaks, National MS Society, Susan G. Komen For The Cure, Make A Wish Foundation, World Wildlife Fund, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, Project Morry, and Active Minds.

3. A LIVING section is showcased on the site: vintage prints, vinyl, and furniture oh my!

4. Exclusive Collections-Disney, I Woke Up Like This (Yes they got it from Beyonce's Flawless!), and Shredded Denim here are a few of my favs from each:

Of course it wouldn't be a vintage shop without Chanel, TVT carries a few from time to time:

Follow The Vintage Twin on Facebook for update on new merchandise and pop up shops here, you will not be disappointed.

Black as night, sweet as sin: Starbucks x Band of Outsiders

“The coffee drink you choose – drip, espresso or a latte – is a form of style and self-expression just as important as what you choose to put on in the morning.” – Scott Sternberg, Band of Outsiders.

Words to live by Scott! I am stoked to see cult brand Band of Outsiders x Starbucks collaborating on an exclusive line for the summer months.

The collab consists of two exclusive designs, inspired by founder and Creative Director Scott Sternberg's favorite slang word for coffee, "drip." They feature black or multicolored paint dripping down the side of Starbuck's trademark coffee cups.

For readers not familiar with Band of Outsiders, the brand is known for its rebellious take on American style. The brand started with men’s shirts and ties inspired by Scott’s youth has since developed into a full line of casual men’s and menswear-inspired women’s clothing lines with a cult following, known for its shrunken schoolboy blazers, narrow oxford-cloth shirts, and impeccably cut trousers. Frank Ocean, Rashida Jones are a few celebs that have been featured in advertising campaigns for the brand.

The Band of Outsiders for Starbucks® Limited Edition Designer Ceramic Mugs are available online at StarbucksStore.com and in participating Starbucks® retail locations in the U.S. and Canada on June 24, 2014.

Drink up!
